چکیده
Heat stress during flowering is a critical limitation for summer maize production. However, the incidence of heat varies with years and locations, it poses great risk to successful reproduction kernel setting. Therefore, essential provide sound quantification occurrence in relation growth development. Here, we analyzed characteristics based on climate data over 60 Huaibei Plain, China. The effective accumulated temperature showed slight interannual variation. average maximum (T¯max) was 32 °C–33 °C, which approximately 2 °C higher than that whole growing season. probability (P) daily Tmax > 33 closer 50% this ranged between 37 °C. five levels from normal extreme were defined. Across six studied sites, mild level accounted most incidents (P, 25–50%), followed by moderate 13–25%) severe 0.5–13%), minimum 0.5%). Four phases bracketing development given, i.e., 1 week prior anthesis, anthesis-silking, 1week post silking. There greater anthesis silking compared other developmental stages. Additionally, grain yield slightly increased increase but declined as surpassed In conclusion, pattern quantified flowering. These findings assist advise cropping strategies semi-arid semi-humid China or similar regions.

Cropping systems alter weed seed banks in Pacific Northwest semi-arid wheat region
Arable land weed seed banks are dynamic and reflect cropping history, current management, and environment. Changes in crop rotation and tillage system can alter weed seed density and species composition. In the semi-arid region of the Pacific Northwest, USA, no-till spring cropping is being studied as an alternative to the traditional winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)/dust-mulch fallow (WWF) ...
متن کاملIrrigation Scheduling for Maize and Indian-mustard based on Daily Crop Water Requirement in a Semi- Arid Region
Maize and Indian mustard are significant crops in semi-arid climate zones of India. Improved water management requires precise scheduling of irrigation, which in turn requires an accurate computation of daily crop evapotranspiration (ETc). Daily crop evapotranspiration comes as a product of reference evapotranspiration (ET0) and the growth stage specific crop coefficients modified for daily var...
متن کاملNitrous oxide fluxes from cropping soils in a semi-arid region in Australia: A 10 year perspective
Understanding nitrous oxide (N2O) fluxes from agricultural soils in semi-arid regions is required to better understand global terrestrial N2O losses. Nitrous oxide fluxes were measured from three rain-fed, cropped soils in a semi-arid region of south-western Australia on a sub-daily basis from 1995 to 2014 using automated chambers. Western Australia’s grain-belt includes 7 million hectares of a...
